Seeking a Commissioning Editor

C International Contemporary Art Magazine is a quarterly Canadian publication that encourages the best
in incisive and innovative writing about contemporary art in all media. We are interested in writing that

takes risks and is inspired by artists, curators and critical thinkers. We seek to engage writing that situates
Canadian artistic practice internationally.

C International seeks a highly motivated individual to solicit, develop, and coordinate its editorial content.
The Commissioning Editor will have a broad artistic vision. You are a creative and strategic thinker, a
facilitator who can articulate an editorial vision and further the organizational mandate, and a leader who
can ensure communication and coordination. You have a strong knowledge of contemporary art, a proven
record of publication production, editing and proofreading skills, excellent written and verbal
communication skills, and experience with grant applications and budgeting.

The Commissioning Editor reports directly to the Board of Directors, and works with the Associate Editor,
General Manager, and Designer to develop material for publication, maintain and develop relations with
contributors and contacts, monitor publication production schedules and expenditures and assist in the
preparation of publication-related grant applications.
